This book involves many people who fought for rights.  Martin Luther King is definitely mentioned in it.  The book is mainly about how the Jim Crow Laws affected the black community.

This book gave a great timeline of all the black accomplishments in sports, starting from when they won a croquet game to Michael Jordan.

A wonderful autobiography including a recorded an interview with Jackie. This was a great primary source covering all of Jackie Robinson's life including his perspective on the challenges he faced.

 

 

Grabowski, John. Baseball Heroes, Jackie Robinson. New York, New York: James Carlton Associates, 1991.

 

This short book goes over Jackie's life before and after baseball in short detail but gives a lot of detail to his career. We learned that Jackie's team in his first year of Minor Leagues won the championship.

This book offers a chronology of Jackie's life and also offers great detail in quick ways without going overboard.
